Weekend Wild Card — 7.8-9-17

A work crew of 5 men have been rep;lacing the roof on my house, which has a 45-degree pitch on one side, in the blazing heat of the last week. I’m amazed at their fine work and ability to withstand the heat. I remember the hay fields of my youth in the hot Sacramento Valley. We worked day after day in such heat, stopping only to drink water from a communal jug and rest in the shadow of the hay truck. Now, I’m out after an hour or so of pulling weeds or gardening in 90+ degrees. At 67, I guess I should be happy that I can still work. I’ll see you back here Monday. Here’s your Weekend Wild Card …
