Archives: State Line bust
Here’s another Huckleberries column item about that State Line prostitution bust of 25 years ago (July 6, 1992):
A funny thing happened to Kootenai County Prosecutor Bill Douglas on his way to the State Line (prostitution) bust. About 10:30 p.m. (June 26, 1992), ISP Sgt. Clyde Kaffenberger pulled Douglas over into the Cenex plant parking lot of Seltice Way, west of Post Falls. Douglas was driving along at a crawl, sometimes over the center line. Imagine Kaffenberger’s surprise when 30 cops huddled in the parking lot screamed at him to turn off his overhead lights. Douglas had been looking for the rendezvous point and found it — thanks to the state trooper, who knew nothing of the pending raid.”
