Phantom Uber meets Drunk Guy
An Inland Northwest uber driver, whom we’ll call The Phantom Uber, shares an interesting tale about his life behind the wheel:
” I received the dispatch to pick up someone in-between the Moose and the Beacon (in downtown Coeur d’Alene). I pulled onto the road, and a middle-aged guy came rushing to the car. He hopped in the front seat and immediately said, “Just get me out of here, man.” I told him that was not a problem, we would get going.
“He proceded to tell me that even though it was only 10 p.m., he had already been in two fights. One of which was at a nearby gas station, where some guy yelled out “White Power!” (My passenger) said he walked up to him, punched him in the face, and then proceeded to have a short fight.
“The destination the guy put into the app was about 5 miles away, although about a half mile out of downtown he told me to pull over right there, that was a good spot to stop. I asked him if he was sure, and he said yes. He stumbled out of the car and managed to make it to a fence to hold himself up. As I drove off I looked back at him and he was leaning over the fence. Not sure if he was puking or just passing out.”
Question: This doesn’t paint a great picture of the individuals who inhabit the bars downtown after dark, does it?
