In Huckleberries Tuesday, I
mentioned that former 1st District Court magistrate Don Swanstrom is picking huckleberries again
despite nagging back pain. After seeing the item, Don emails:
Morning, Huckleberry Hound: “I’ve been picking huckleberries for as long as I can remember … growing up in Naples gave plenty of areas to get good berries over the years. Your comment in this morning’s Review made me smile. Not only did I find that picking those fickle berries work to take my mind away from the back pain, it also proved to me that my two total knee replacements, which are approaching the 2 years anniversary
of their installing, leave me with totally pain free knees when tromping across hillsides looking for berries.”
