KCSO: 6 teens involved in Hayden car, home burglary spree
Four juveniles have been arrested and two more will be charged in a string of burglaries in Hayden. Several stolen property items, including a handgun, have been recovered, and many items have been returned to their rightful owners.
Late Monday and early Tuesday, at least twelve people were victims of vehicle and residential burglaries. The suspects walked through neighborhoods entering unlocked vehicles and buildings. Victims reported wallets, money, credit cards, cell phones, various other electronic devices, and a handgun as items stolen during this incident.
Thanks to a very small piece of evidence left behind, and the persistent work of sheriff’s deputies assigned to the City of Hayden district, a single suspect was identified. Deputies continued their investigation, which ultimately identified six juveniles who were directly involved. Four of the six were immediately arrested and charges will be filed for the two remaining. Due to their ages, and the continuing investigation, the suspect names will not be released at this time.
Deputies have been able to recover large amounts of the stolen property, to include the stolen firearm. However, deputies believe there are still numerous unreported victims. Additional property believed to have been stolen has been recovered, but the owners have yet to be identified.
If you live in the Hayden area and believe your vehicle was burglarized during this time frame, you are asked to contact the Sheriff Office at (208) 446-1300.
