Wiser for school board

I have known Mike Wiser since middle school. We met at Sacajawea. I was a Jefferson kid; he went to Wilson Elementary. Mike has always been calm, thoughtful, empathetic and hard-working; a person of the highest integrity.

Before being appointed to the Spokane Public Schools board, Mike asked to meet with me. I’m a school counselor. We talked about Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, a proactive approach for improving student behavior. This is an example of the kind of person Mike is — a good listener who tries to get all the information possible.

Mike is committed to education, both in his own life and for the next generation. For example, Mike earned an engineering degree from UW and went on to earn an MBA from Northwestern. As a parent, Mike has served as the treasurer of the parent group at his daughters’ elementary.

In addition to his personal qualities and commitment to education, Mike has the professional skills needed — from management consulting to strategic planning. He’ll use these skills to listen to all sides, prioritize limited resources, and set goals. I can’t think of a more qualified person than Mike Wiser. I encourage you to vote Mike for school board.
