Accept free speech

Regarding all of the letters to The Spokesman-Review about people who didn’t like the so-called street preachers at this year’s Pride Parade: In case you haven’t read the Declaration of Independence lately, this country was founded on religious principles. And, in the First Amendment to the Constitution, we are all guaranteed freedoms of religion and speech.

A lot of good men have fought and died for this country, to protect these rights we all — well, most of us — hold dear. If you don’t like people who disagree with your views, or who you marry, maybe you should move to a country like North Korea, where people don’t have any rights.
