Trump diminishes the office

I do not understand the behavior of Donald Trump. For at least eight years, he attempted unsuccessfully to undermine Barack Obama’s legitimacy by claiming he was not American born.

Now that he achieved his own goal to become president, he still attacks former President Obama. This time he did so on foreign soil (inappropriate for any ;resident), in Warsaw, Poland, where he also launched an assault against the American press (also very inappropriate).

My question: Why is he so obsessed with diminishing President Obama? Barack Obama was able to improve the lives of millions of Americans without degrading, insulting or threatening anyone. Is this not an achievement to emulate?

I wish the new president would follow time-tested norms and rules of the office and concentrate instead on fixing and improving our aging infrastructure, and moving closer toward an authentically moral and fiscally fair system of health care.

There are many impending needs of our beautiful, beloved country. If he wants, Donald Trump is big enough to choose a better path forward, and I wish him success.
