CPD IDs bodies found in apartment

Coeur d’Alene police have identified the couple found dead in an apartment last week after an apparent murder-suicide .

Katlyn A. Dettwiler, 25, and Peter J. Dettwiler, 28, were found Thursday afternoon after other residents of the Falls Creek complex, 2827 N. Julia St., reported an odor coming from the Dettwilers’ unit, police said. Their bodies had been in the apartment for more than a week.

Detective Jared Reneau said in a statement Monday that their deaths appear to be the result of domestic violence. Detectives, he said, “are continuing their investigation of this incident and are trying to determine exactly what happened.”

Reneau said no additional information would be released Monday evening. Neither of the Dettwilers appears to have a criminal record/SR. More here.
