Huckleberries: Kellogg police uphold the law & tickle your funny bone

Wednesday Huckleberries:

How does Huckleberries love the Facebook Roll Call report from the Kellogg Police Department? Let us count the ways. Together. Here’s some nuggets from the May 23-30 report:

· Seems one of KPD’s finest cleared a hazard from the Kellogg portion of Interstate 90, a box of Christmas decorations. “And there were casualties,” reports the Roll Call scribe, tongue firmly cheeked. “Only one nutcracker had survived out of the four. Said nutcracker is sitting on K75’s desk, if the owner wants to come and take him home.”

· The Roll Caller reports that rookie Officer Matt Crawford made his first traffic stop, at Cameron and Oregon. But not without incident. Roll Call: “(Crawford) did pretty good, but he did unintentionally make the young lady cry. So I had to dock him some points for that. He cleared the stop with a verbal warning and feeling bad for said tears.”

· Under “Things That Make You Go Hmmmm,” Roll Caller reports that a male driver was pulled over for running a stop sign at Bunker and Hill. The guy was let off with a verbal warning. His excuse? “Dog had to go to the bathroom quite badly.”

· In another item, Roll Caller reports that Officer Crawford is riding with another one of Kellogg’s finest for a while so he can get his “fish-belly-white” right arm to match his sun-burned left one.

Roll Call has dozens of items. All reflect routine police work in a small North Idaho town. But the few that display the writer’s wit are priceless. More here.
