I don’t understand why the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce is being coy re: the behind-the-scenes discussions re: dumping the longer Ironman Coeur d’Alene. Chamber officials considered the move almost three years ago. But backed off in the face of strong support from the business community for Ironman. The current State of IronmanCDA is worse today than it was then. The full Ironman is losing triathletes. The new Ironman 70.3 has the energy. So why not just say that Ironman is losing steam? The word has gotten out. The chamber deserves much credit for bringing this fine event to us. It if no longer works, the chamber should say so — and we all can move on. Here’s your Wild Card …
