Mayor Steve: Not in my house

Responding to a Facebook Friend comment re: teen fighting on the waterfront, Mayor Steve Widmyer said:

There’s been a quick response by police. The department has dedicated patrol officers to handle future incidents. “The officers have been instructed to cite, p ossibly arrest, but not warn. At this point, that’s how we’re dealing with it.” Aggravated assault carries a maximum five years in prison and a $5,000 fine, and aggravated battery, also a felony, carries a maximum 15 years in the poke. Lesser misdemeanor offenses for fighting are handled with a citation.
