Stoplight, not roundabout

After reading the article about the meeting between Costco, the state and the neighbors of the newly planned store, I just cannot understand why a roundabout on a highway is even considered to be a good action. I drove down to the area at 12:30 p.m. to see where the store will be, and I was driving the 60 mph speed limit. Everyone was going faster than me - several over 70 - and in a very short time I saw three potential accidents occur.

The addition of the roundabout will be a good reason to place an ambulance there at all times. Why not lower the speed limit between the ‘Y’ to Farwell Road and put a stoplight at the turn into the Costco. There is so much traffic there with the growth to the north, and to me that seems a better consideration than a roundabout.

People in Spokane just do not seem to understand how to get through a roundabout, and without a lower speed limit there will still be going 70 because it is a highway. Or spend the next 10 months educating drivers how to proceed. I think the stoplight would be cheaper in the long run.
