Moore for library director

I highly recommend Cindy Moore for director of the Spokane Library District. Having known Cindy her entire life, I am uniquely qualified to speak to her outstanding character and ethics. Cindy has an enthusiasm for libraries as places that enable the public to gain knowledge and insight. In her most recent position, Cindy was tasked with and masterfully accomplished, turning around a barely functioning library that was borrowing money to meet payroll and had huge needs for updating systems, protocols, maintenance and technology.

This involved diplomatically training the staff to be accountable when accountability had never before been required. Her staff felt valued as they knew their ideas were considered as part of the decision making process. Many do not know Cindy’s contribution of endless hours and that she personally paid for programming, supplies, books and equipment. Making tough, thoughtful decisions while recognizing the full extent of the consequences, is evidence of Cindy’s management style. She has always maintained her integrity and professionalism, even in the face of criticism.

Cindy is a tireless library advocate, highly qualified, and a superb choice for library director.
