Obviously, a switch from the current Disqus system for comments to one that is Facebook-based is a non-starter at Huckleberries Online. Several commenters that I value weighed in yesterday to say that they would continue reading Huckleberries but wouldn’t comment if we switched to the Facebook system here. A number of you don’t have Facebook pages. So we’ll continue to endure the Disqus system, which we love to hate here. But allows us the freedom of anonymity and exchange of ideas that we wouldn’t have with a Facebook system. So next time you’re attempted to damn Disqus for the annoying nuisances (like occasionally booting you to the curb for no reason or refusing to recognize your user name or password), remember … the people have spoken. I’ll try to remember also.
