Equality not so equal

Fly a Confederate flag, even on your own property, and see how quickly some government official will order you to take it down. Apply for a permit to hold a Caucasian pride parade and you will be labeled a hate-filled bigot. It is for certain your request for such a permit will be speedily rejected.

I double dare someone to politely request that the Christian flag be flown above the Spokane City Hall and see how quickly the Spokane Human Rights Commission, the City Council and Mayor David Condon’s cabinet will scream “separation of church and state!”

But these same highly lauded and applauded paid-by-our-tax-dollars public servants and entities proudly fly the LGBT flag over City Hall and declare the entire month of June to be a celebration of the LGBT community.

Far from promoting equality, this, quite clearly, is to grant one particular group special treatment which is denied to the majority of citizens.
