What happened to the oldies?

A few years ago, Spokane enjoyed “Oldies but Goodies” music from the 40s and 50s on AM-1050. In 2016, that became a religious station, and transferred to AM-790 as “the greatest sounds in listening music”. In 2017, that station turned to rock ‘n’ roll. The only music out there now is classical, religious, country, and rock ‘n’ roll — nothing from the great era of the 40s, 50s and 60s.

Whatever happened to the sounds of Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Inglebert Humperdink, Ray Price, Willie Nelson, Michael Buble, Nat King Cole, Kenny Rogers, Patsy Cline, Elvis Presley, Whitney Houston, etc.,

Occasionally we might be treated to one of the 50s tunes, but very rare! If stations think that there is no audience for this music, they are mistaken. Whenever there are Big Band events in the this region, buildings are packed with people of all ages listening and dancing. I feel that radio and businesses are missing a great marketing potential by not featuring music from an era that appeals to all ages. That void should be filled.
