NIC replacing 36 cooking grills on beach

The grills are one of several improvements made by the college to the beach area in recent years. The roadway lighting has been updated to LED lighting for improved visibility; the dock and gangway have been replaced to improve safety; a new Outdoor Pursuits building has replaced an old red shack; a basalt stone wall has been placed at the bulkhead along the river to prevent erosion; new pumps have been placed at restrooms to improve reliability; and new roofing has been placed on beachside facilities.

“All of the upgrades have been made in an effort to improve conditions for the community that supports North Idaho College,” said Bill McElver, NIC Facilities Operations/Physical Plant manager.
