Don’t ruin North Monroe

We need residents of Spokane to help. Drive north on Monroe between 8 a.m.-8:15 a.m. on a weekday. It is heavy traffic. Drive back at 8:40 a.m. to 9 a.m. It’s heavy until Garland, then becomes bumper to bumper. Try it again on a Saturday afternoon. You will find the traffic is busy.

We need a city engineer who cares about Spokane and not their own ego. We need a council that uses its authority to stop ridiculous plans that ultimately hurt our town’s traffic.

How will you get to work when there is only one lane on North Monroe? Use the Ash/Maple corridor? It will become bumper to bumper. How about Division? It is already so busy that many try to avoid that street. There must be some way to stop the insanity of our street department and protect our right of way to get from north to south and vice-versa.

Store owners revolt! Commuters stand up! Residents help protect your street! Surely there must be someone who cares enough to take the bull by the horns and keep this major street wide enough for the traffic it now has. Let’s work together for the good of Spokane.
