Hold mothers accountable
Lovina Rainey admits to “four days of drug use and no sleep” as reason for her lapse in memory (June 14 article) when recalling the events around her daughter’s death. It also seems her role as a drug addict and dealer put her daughter in harm’s way in an unfit home and makes her guilty of “child endangerment.” Until we make mother’s responsible for their actions and charge them as an accomplice in the child’s death, this all too familiar instance of innocent children dying will surely continue.
