Cindy: In appreciation of flaggers

It’s easy for me to express thankfulness—verbally or in writing and I appreciate it when others do the same. So frankly I’m flummoxed by those who seem to forget those two little words.

Today, the flagman on my street motioned for me to roll down my window as I backed out of my driveway.

“Thank you for your smiles and friendly waves,” he said. “You’d not believe how many dirty looks we get.”

When is the last time you said, “Thank you?”

PS: Fetching the newspaper in my nightgown had NOTHING to do with his appreciation.
