Weekly fishing seminar series starting at Mark’s Marine in Hayden
FISHING – A Thursday, March 2, program on angling for Lake Roosevelt trout and kokanee will kick off the 12th annual six-week series of free localized fishing seminars sponsored by Mark’s Marine in Hayden.
Each presentation in the Spring Seminar Series, as follows, is set for a Thursday and will run 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. at 14355 N. Government Way.
First in the series is Inland Northwest fishing guide Benita Galland, who will share tips on fishing the reservoir that backs up the Columbia behind Grand Coulee Dam. Great trout fishing and huge kokanee in the past year have directed considerable angler interest to Roosevelt.
“We do recommend coming a bit early to get a good seat as our maximum capacity is around 150 people,” said Aaron Thykeson, store spokesman.
Other seminars include:
March 9, Intermediate Level Electronics , by Aaron Thykeson, will focus on interpreting sonar signals, understanding how the technology fundamentally works and troubleshooting common mistakes.
March 16, Northern Pike , by Brock Morrow of the North Idaho Pike Association.
March 23, Bass and Panfishing , by Jim Grossi, a Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame member and mentor for the “Let’s go fishing Ministry.”
March 30, Lake Pend Oreille Trout , by Brian Kerins.
April 6, Coeur d’Alene Salmon , but Jordan Smith, local fishing guide from Fins and Feathers Sport Shop.
