Latest ISP fund-shift bill put on hold, Moyle says ‘couple ideas floating around’
When the House Revenue & Taxation Committee this morning got to HB 218 , Rep. Mike Moyle’s latest proposal to change the funding of the Idaho State Police, Moyle asked to hold off, and hold the bill at the call of the chair. Moyle said after a joint leadership meeting late yesterday, “There are a couple ideas floating around that affect whether this bill needs amended a little bit or changed a little bit.”
HB 218 would dedicate 1 percent of state sales tax collections to ISP, and eliminate the $17 million in highway funds that now go to ISP. Those highway funds then would go to roads.
The committee agreed by unanimous consent to hold the bill at the call of the chair.
