Not whining, but worried

In the wake of recent revelations involving Michael Flynn and Russian officials, it shouldn’t be surprising that the White House response is to deflect the criticism to whomever was leaking the story. Try as I may to find some humor in this (should we go with “alternate transparency” versus “illegal leaking”) the sad truth is that this behavior is painfully typical.

The denial and hypocrisy with this new administration is as dangerous as it is frustrating. Recall the closing to Trump’s inaugural address: “So to all Americans, you will never be ignored again.”

Well, let’s compare our progress in that regard to these verifiable facts (I checked multiple sources on these). As of this past month, two-thirds of all Americans feel Trump should release his tax records. Not gonna happen. Sixty percent of the country supports Planned Parenthood. About to be defunded. From 60 percent to 70 percent of parents approve of the job their local public schools are doing. You would never know it from the bashing Trump and DeVos have given them. And now this most recent debacle, at a time when only 30 percent of Americans see Russia as a friendly ally.

I’m not whining. I’m just deeply worried.
