May opposed in CdA trustee race

Kootenai County Clerk Jim Brannon released the final list of candidates who have filed for taxing district offices in the May 16 election. The filing deadline was 5PM today. “Some candidates filed late this week, yet many races remain uncontested,” said Brannon. The final Candidates Filed roster is attached. These are the names which will appear on the May 16 ballots. The write-in candidate filing deadline is Friday, April 3 at 5PM.

The two incumbent trustees in the Coeur d’Alene School District are unopposed. The only contested trustee race in the county is the one for Coeur d’Alene School District Zone 1, where John Rubert has filed against Lisa May, chairwoman of the district’s Long Range Planning Committee. The races attracting the most attention are the ones for Consolidated Free Library trustee and the Kootenai Hospital District.
