Remember S&H Green Stamps
So KXLY’s Casey Lund wears a tie featuring S&H Green Stamps on the evening news broadcast Friday night, to fulfill the “green”
requirement for St. Patrick’s Day. And he was schooled by colleague Kris Crocker re: the history behind the S&H Green Stamps. Facebooks Kris: “I had to explain to young Casey about Greenstamps. We had A LOT of books full of them at the Crocker house.” My family saved Green Stamps, too. During my high school and early college days, I was a dispenser of said stamps. I worked as a clerk/stocker/carry-out guy at a small northern California grocery store. The customer received a stamp for every $10 (I believe) and a giant stamp for every $100. For kicks, I occasionally pasted a $100 stamp to the counter and watched out of the corner of my eye while checking to see which customers tried and failed to snatch it up. Some broken finger nails. But good fun. How about you?
Question: Did your family save S&H Green Stamps?
