Sen. Davis: ‘A lot can happen in a weekend at the end of a session’

The Senate has a short calendar today; Senate Majority Leader Bart Davis, R-Idaho Falls, said they’ll work through what’s on their calendar plus a few bills the House transmits to them this morning, and then adjourn until Monday. “We will not be picking up 1162 today,” he said, referring to the $300 million GARVEE bonding bill that’s still hanging on the Senate calendar.

Davis said there are “conversations that are going on on how to get a transportation package put together and run,” but at this point, the outcome is unclear. “A lot can happen in a weekend at the end of a session, and that may be where we’re at right now,” he said.
