Fish Lake Trail looking a bit like a trout stream

A stream of runoff floods the Fish Lake Trail between Fish Lake and Cheney on March 25, 2017. (Tanner Grant)

TRAILS — It’s still squishy out there in many places for hiking and biking, although what I saw of the scablands this weekend, including the BLM Twin Lakes area west of Harrington, but quite hikeable if you’re open to a lot of detours around temporary wetlands.

Impacts of our record winter for precipitation continue to linger. The Fish Lake Trail had a surprising amount of “flowing water” on Saturday, documented in the photo above by Tanner Grant.

Be patient.
