Sad to see Ormsby go

I was saddened to see that the Trump administration forced Mike Ormsby, the U.S. attorney for Eastern Washington, to resign. I have not always agreed with him politically, as I am a life-long Republican, but I have always respected him for his professionalism, principles and his dedication to the people of Eastern Washington.

I have known Mr. Ormsby for almost 40 years, and I have always considered him a man of honor. He has set a high standard for whomever follows in his place. Politics in a perfect world keep qualified persons in government positions regardless of which party they belonged to, but this is not the way of politics.

I thank Mike Ormsby for his service, and wish him and his family the best in the years ahead. He will be missed.
