Mushroomers licking their chops as first morels emerge

WILD EDIBLES — More good news from the great outdoors:  Morels have begun emerging in certain areas, as photographer Bruce Andre documented this weekend.

Another reason to live at large in the Inland Northwest.

Last year, the region enjoyed a bumper crop of morels responding to the widespread wildfires of 2015. The Forest Service had to bolster its rules to deal with the influx of mushroomers.
