Senate goes at ease, is in a ‘holding pattern’
The Senate has briefly convened, then gone at ease at the call of the chair, with the caution that it will be at least until 3:30. “We met briefly with our friends from the body across the rotunda,” Senate Majority Leader Bart Davis, R-Idaho Falls, told the Senate. “They’re going to work on some matters. It’s going to take a little bit of time.”
So Davis said the Senate had decided to convene “rather than have you mill about,” and provide some direction: That it’ll be at ease, and won’t be back before 3:30. Davis said they’re in a “holding pattern.”
