The House has adjourned sine die

The House has adjourned sine die, with the gavel falling at 10:48 a.m.

When the formal committee from the House arrived in the Senate to notify them, Rep. Jeff Thompson, R-Idaho Falls, announced, “We as House members are here to let the Senate know that we have concluded our business and are ready to sine die.”

Lt. Gov. Brad Little said, “We welcome you to the Senate and that’s great news, and we may have some committee come see you sometime.” That was greeted with laughter.

When the House delegation returned to the House, Speaker Scott Bedke asked, “How did they take the report?” Thompson responded, “Gleefully. Very happy.”

“Excellent, you may be dismissed,” Bedke said.

And with that, Majority Leader Mike Moyle made the motion to adjourn for the session, and it passed. After the gavel fell, the House gave a round of applause.
