City not bringing lifeguards back

The iconic white lifeguard towers at City Beach in Coeur d’Alene have been removed and there will no longer be any lifeguards on duty starting this summer. The Malone family has been coming from Spokane to City Beach for four years. “We actually noticed right away when we came here that there weren’t any and the stands were down. A bit surprised about it,” said Josh Malone. “We’re used to them keeping an eye on the kids and we realized it was our job I guess this time.” Officials from the City of Coeur d’Alene said the change came down to a staffing issue/ Taylor Viydo , KREM 2.
