Silverwood to begin 30th year

Make memories that last a lifetime! Silverwood Theme Park will open its gates again Saturday, May 6th, beginning a year of family fun and memories.  In 1987, when the Henley Aerodrome & Museum of Transportation was still under construction, Gary Norton wondered whether anyone would actually pay to visit his creation, located in a remote area of North Idaho.

“If nobody shows,” he said, “then I’m just going to have a nice little park to play in with my friends.”

30 years later, people have either shown up in droves, or Norton has around 11 million friends – the number of people who’ve passed through the gates of his theme park, wisely renamed Silverwood before it opened in 1988. More here.
