Press: City honors fallen hero

In the Friday editorial, Mike Patrick/Coeur d’Alene Press writes:

May the first be the last.

That’s our fervent wish today as we reflect on the shooting death of Sgt. Greg Moore two years ago. He was the first Coeur d’Alene Police officer killed in the line of duty.

Others have been seriously hurt, including the honorable Mike Kralicek, who was shot in the face in 2004 and made a miraculous recovery, thanks to tremendous medical care and a world-class wife, Carrie. But Moore has the tragic distinction of being the first — and, we hope, the last — Coeur d’Alene officer killed while protecting the rest of us. More here.
