Big brother coming to pass

The Department of Ecology controls when and if we can use our wood stoves for heating our homes. At the recent Spokane County Water Bank public hearing, our three Republican county commissioners declared their support of the Department of Ecology controlling how much water many of us can use, and satellite photography will make sure we are in compliance.

This, added to the traffic cameras and smart meters that monitor our electrical usage, makes one think that the horrors of Big Brother controlling all aspects of our lives as described in the novel “1984” by George Orwell are quickly coming to pass.

As Patrick Henry said, “Our chains are forged”, their clanking may be heard all across the county thanks to Republicans, Democrats, the State Supreme Court, and the unelected regulators at the EPA and the state Department of Ecology.
