Inslee signs REAL ID bill, 2017-19 transportation budget

OLYMPIA — In a flurry of bill signings Tuesday morning, Gov. Jay Inslee signed the REAL ID bill to bring Washington into compliance with federal rules for driver’s licenses and other identification cards.

He also signed the 2017-19 Transportation Budget, which includes billions for major road, bridge and transit projects, including money for further work on the North Spokane Corridor.

Also signed Tuesday were bills allowing birth control pill prescriptions to be filled for 12 months, updates to the state’s marijuana laws, and requirements for some counties to increase the number of ballot drop boxes.
