Our freedom murdered

I am horrified to see the Republican Party, which was elected to eliminate federal involvement in the private health-care decisions of individual Americans, come up with their own version. A principled conservative can never win a bidding war with a progressive when it comes to being willing to “give away free money.”Liberals believe in doing this, and conservatives should know it to be wrong.

But, thanks to the liberal and the cowardly within the Republican leadership, that is exactly what we have done. We have abandoned principled resistance to a federal intrusion into our personal freedom. We have connived in changing the relationship between citizen and government from guardian (citizen) to servant (government) in service to the Constitution; now we agree that we citizens are livestock whose care is the responsibility of our owner, the federal government.

The Constitution is being killed and our freedom murdered, one “good intention” at a time.
