Giant Idaho publicity potato to become tiny vacation rental

A Boise woman plans to make a miniature vacation rental home – and roadside attraction – out of the 6-ton replica Russet Burbank that’s traversed the U.S. since 2011 aboard the Idaho Potato Commission’s Great Big Idaho Potato Truck. “This has been something I have been calling dibs on for many years,” said Kristie Wolfe, 35, who spent two seasons as a crew member on the truck and now makes her living by building and renting tiny homes.

Among her previous efforts are a Hobbit-themed home in near Chelan, Wash., and an airy, off-the-grid treehouse on the big island of Hawaii. You can read the full story here from the Capital Press.
