Deer shooting sad
The story of the tamed deer being shot in St. Maries (Oct. 17) was certainly a sad one. Did no one stop to reflect on the fact that here was a trained marksman with a handgun needing three shots to dispatch a deer that was, at the moment at least, threatening no one?
If an expert in this environment couldn’t manage to protect the neighborhood from a deer in fewer than three shots, what fool wants to have unvetted, untrained, inexperienced fellow fools wandering around with handguns under the guise of protection, of self or others?
