Self destruction or revolution?

A recent Gallup Poll tells us that a record 77 percent of Americans feel our country is divided.

Is this really happening in America? Are we sowing seeds of our own destruction? Dorothy Day says we need a revolution of the heart. Thomas Merton writes of his revolution of his heart: “… in a shopping district, I was suddenly overwhelmed with the realization that I loved all those people, that they were mine and I theirs, that we could not be alien to one another, even though we were total strangers.”
