Disagree with Vestal

Shawn Vestal’s recent attempt (10-29: “Murray crafts humane bipartisan fix for Obamacare”) to assign Sen. Patty Murray and Lamar Alexander (R-Tennessee) the status of grown ups in their attempt to “fix some of the immediate problems with Obamacare” is nothing more than platitudes, rhetoric, administration bashing or columnist fatigue.

No grand strategy was required for this misbegotten law to implode. That was baked into the cake when it was approved by Democrats and signed into law by President Obama on March 10, 2010. Mr. Vestal, it is time for you to recognize and accept the fact that America’s free stuff armies, from Medicaid voters, subsidy sucking insurance companies and dishonest congressional members from both parties are simply trying to survive and perpetuate their existences on the backs of the American taxpayer.

This failed law can only be fixed by repealing and replacing it with one that simply makes sense and is sustainable, an activity that was promoted and promised by what has proven to be a very dishonest and cowardly Republican Congress.

Hopefully, the next Congress will be augmented by enough newly elected Republican members that will carry through on their health insurance promises because Democrats are only capable of continuing to feed the free stuff armies.
