#MeToo more effective

Regarding Elizabeth Backstrom’s column of Nov. 4 column, where she is listed as a “progressive evangelical”: That she is progressive is apparent if, when she referred to women marching in January (2017 implied), she was referring to the offensive display of “pussy hats” and “vagina” apparel displayed by Madonna and a thousand or so of her closest friends after President Trump’s inauguration. I submit, as a survivor myself of childhood sexual assault and plenty of harassment, too, that such displays are, to many, counterproductive.

In my opinion, #MeToo is a much more effective tool than the revolting behavior and apparel on display last January.
