Sneak attack

The Republican tax bill is a sneak attack on Medicaid and Medicare. In order to pay for tax cuts for large corporations and millionaires and billionaires, Congress passed a budget in October that included $1.8 trillion in cuts to Medicaid, Medicare and other health care programs.

What’s worse, the Republican tax plan raises taxes on everyday people:

The plan raises taxes on millions of people who can least afford it, including seniors on fixed incomes and working families in the lowest income tax bracket.

Americans will no longer be able to deduct most of their state and local taxes on their federal return.

One in 7 children in working families would lose out in receiving the full increased Child Tax Credit amount. Meanwhile, children of millionaires would get a $650 boost per child.

It’s time for people in our community to stand up and say no to millionaires and wealthy corporations raiding our health care to line their pockets.
