Project about safety
Slow down people! The leaders of Spokane should never tire of educating the people about safety. Members of the public should be reminded that the Monroe Street project is not the entire North Monroe strip; it’s somewhere in the neighborhood a mile and a half; Indiana to the bottom of the North Monroe hill. This project is not just a beautification project, it’s not a sinister plan the city has to slow down traffic; and it’s not the city wasting money.
While there are some elements of beatification; the idea is to slow down traffic in this area because there are concerns of safety.
People want to cross the street without the fear of getting run over. Because the parking on this section of Monroe is so narrow; it’s dangerous getting out of your vehicle. It would be more safe to have a wider area to park on the street, it’s a good idea to have a wider sidewalk for pedestrian safety; and travel.
Let’s come together and do what’s right.
