No longer supporting NFL

Doug Baldwin of the Seattle Seahawks stated, “… the people taking a knee … are being courageous — putting themselves out there and being vulnerable.”

I support his right to speak or protest what, when and where he wants. But honoring “The Star Spangled Banner” is one of the few moments in our lives when we take the time to remember, honor and give respect to all who have chosen to serve and protect us, to fight for our rights and freedoms, to risk their lives - for all Americans – of all skin colors. Many endure unimaginable pain, suffering and horror. Many make the ultimate sacrifice. They are the ones who live the meaning of courage.

The players blatantly dishonor them when they dishonor the anthem - while they reap the benefits that come from their suffering, sacrifices and deaths. The players should walk down row after row after row of white markers and explain to them how they are being courageous and why they dishonor them. When our enemies take a soldier’s legs, please explain how “taking a knee” is being courageous.

Courageous is not the word I would use to describe you. I no longer support the NFL.
