Disgusted with bicyclist

As a bicyclist who has often enjoyed the length of the Centennial Trail in Spokane and North Idaho, I am disgusted by the infantile, entitled behavior and attitude of Justin Haller (“Collision course case,” Oct. 8). Any bicyclist who has even a passing familiarity with the abundance of beautiful trails that bless our locale knows that there are some areas that have higher congestion. Responsible bicyclists, knowing that it is our responsibility to avoid colliding with anyone who is in front of us, adjust our speed accordingly when we are in a high congestion area.

Additionally, most of us learned to share with others back when we were in kindergarten, and that life isn’t just about us, including times when we “hate to slow down.” I regret that Justin Haller and his ilk cast a pall over us responsible and courteous bicyclists, and wish Virginia Pearsall a full recovery from the physical and emotional injury that Justin Haller caused her.
