Empty prayers

My niece inadvertently attended a mass shooting in Las Vegas. My brother thanks God that his daughter is unharmed. Who do we thank for the 59 dead and 500 wounded? We thank the NRA and other soulless gun worshipers who never get enough blood in their news. There will be more, and they know, and they don’t care.

I really pity the president and the other empty husks of humanity in our Congress who must again pray for victims of gun massacre. All of that praying must be a massive burden. Do they pray 59 times for 59 dead? Or is it just a blanket, heartfelt, single prayer that also covers their hopeful recovery from their bout of gout?
