In defense of Democrats

Democrats consider what is best for all, not just the few; they would rather use diplomacy and negotiation than nuclear brinksmanship, foster a thriving middle class and workers than be beholden to the one percent; they believe in women empowerment and the Second Amendment, but they would like to see fewer abortions, and to keep assault rifles out of the public’s hands.

They don’t make up dubious claims about voter fraud to undermine the most important tenet of democracy, and they have a much higher opinion of the American public (they don’t steadfastly support a president who thinks the people are so dumb that they will swallow every lie that comes out of his mouth without questioning).

Remember those same progressives and liberals have been right about every major issue since the founding of this country: U.S. engagement with the world, free trade, labor unions, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, school lunch programs, abolition and civil rights (don’t try to claim “the party of Lincoln;” we know where states’ rights politicians hang their hats today), the New Deal, World War II, the failure of trickle-down economics, universal suffrage and health care, environmental legislation, the U.N., NATO, the list goes on and on.
