Keeping Salish alive
Kudos to The Spokesman-Review for reporting on such an overlooked and underappreciated issue, the saving and continuation of an indigenous language that was on the verge of extinction (Oct. 15). The Kalispel Tribe, the Spokane Tribe, along with the Coeur d’Alenes were in our region from the beginning. It would be a shame to lose any part of that rich heritage. Thank you to the Kalispel Tribe for opening the Salish Immersion School. Good for you and good for all of your people!
